  சிவபாதசேகரன் – ஒரு பாடம்! பார் அளக்க பாரதத்தில் பிறந்தவர் அருள்மொழிவர்மன் . சோழர்களின் பெருமையை உலகறிய செய்தவர். தமிழர்களின் வீரத்தை பற்பல வெற்றிகளால் பறைசாற்றியவர். நுணுக்கமான அறிவும், திறன்மிகு போர் உத்திகளும், வல்லமை மிக்க கடல் வாணிபங்களும், சலைக்காத சமயப் பற்றும் இவரை இராசராசனாக்கியது. இரண்டாம் பராந்தக சோழனுக்கும் வானவன் மாதேவிக்கும் மகனாக ஐப்பசி சதயம் கிபி 947 ஆம் ஆண்டு சோழர்களுக்கு உட்பட்ட தஞ்சையில் பிறந்தார். பெற்றோர்கள் இவருக்கு இட்டபெயர் அருள்மொழிவர்மன். அவரது 1078 ஆவது பிறந்த நாளில் அவரது அளப்பரிய ஆற்றலை சற்றே அனுபவிப்போம். சோழர்களை உலகமறியச் செய்த படையெடுப்புகள்: காவேரி ஆற்றுப் படுக்கையின் ஓரத்தில் சில மகாணங்களின் அரசாக இருந்த சோழ பேரரசை விரிவடையச் செய்தவர் இராசராசன். தனது மகனான இராசேந்திர சோழனுக்கும் திறம்பட போர்வித்தைகளை பயிற்றுவித்து காந்தளூர் துறைமுகத்தைத் தாக்கச் செய்தார். காந்தளூர் துறைமுகத்தை கைப்பற்றியதன் மூலம் மேற்கில் சேரர்களின் ஆட்சியை சோழ பேரரசினுள் கொண்டு வந்தார். சேரர்களின் மலையம், கொங்கணம் மற்றும் துளவம் ஆகிய மூன்று அரசுகளையும் இராசராசன் வென்றதால் ...
